The Department of Social Welfare and Community Development (SWCD) commenced field operations for the reassessment of beneficiaries under the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme on 12th February, 2026. The exercise is aimed at cleaning the LEAP register by correcting inclusion and exclusion errors, to ensure that only genuinely eligible beneficiaries continue to benefit from the programme.

The exercise is being led by the Municipal Head of the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development. The field team comprises the LEAP Desk Officer, Miss Loretta Adu-Tawiah; the Municipal Information Officer, Mr. Kafui Atisu; the Municipal Statistics Officer, Mr. Seth Addae; the Planning Officer, Mr. Michael Lartey; and Miss Vivian Ofori of the Department of SWCD.

The team commenced the reassessment exercise at Fuakyekrom and subsequently covered Anwonakrom. The exercise is expected to span a period of two weeks, during which several communities across the Municipality will be visited.

The reassessment is expected to enhance the credibility and effectiveness of the LEAP programme by ensuring that support reaches the most vulnerable households within the Municipality.
